Understanding Your Body

Perhaps you're tired all the time, your digestion isn't right, your hormones seem to have changed, you're struggling with stress or anxiety, or you simply don't feel as well as you used to.

Sometimes there is one obvious concern. Sometimes there are several seemingly unrelated things going on at once. And sometimes you've already been told that everything looks fine - but you know you don't feel fine.

My approach is to look beyond individual symptoms and explore the wider picture: what might be placing your body under stress, what may be out of balance, and what appears to need support?
Kinesiology gives me a way of doing that.

What is kinesiology?
Kinesiology uses gentle muscle response testing to explore how the body responds to different forms of stress and support.

Rather than starting with the assumption that a particular symptom must have a particular cause, I use kinesiology alongside a detailed history to help guide me towards areas that may warrant attention.
This might lead us to look more closely at nutrition, digestion, gut health, stress, hormonal balance, energy production or environmental factors.

I don't use kinesiology to diagnose medical conditions. Instead, I use it as a way of asking questions of the body and helping to prioritise where support may be most useful.
Looking at the whole person
One of the things I find most useful about kinesiology is that it allows me to look at different aspects of wellbeing together.

Our bodies don't operate as a collection of completely separate systems. Nutrition can affect energy. Stress can affect digestion. Poor digestion may influence how well nutrients are absorbed. Hormonal changes can affect sleep, mood and energy - and feeling exhausted can make everything else more difficult to cope with.

So rather than looking at each symptom in isolation, I am interested in how the different pieces may connect.

Depending on what you come to see me about, I may explore areas such as:
-
Nutritional status
-
Digestion and gut health
-
Energy and fatigue
-
Stress and emotional wellbeing
-
Hormonal balance
-
Menopause and changing nutritional needs
-
Environmental factors
-
General health and wellbeing
-

What I look at will be guided by you, rather than by a standard checklist that everyone receives.
Nutrition is about more than eating a healthy diet
It can be frustrating to feel that you're eating reasonably well and doing the “right things”, yet still not feel as well as you think you should.

Nutrition isn't simply about whether your diet looks healthy on paper.

Individual nutritional requirements vary, and digestion, absorption, gut health, stress, lifestyle and other factors can all influence how well your body is functioning.

Through kinesiology, I can explore whether particular nutrients or areas of nutritional support appear relevant to you and use those findings to help guide what we prioritise.

This means I don't begin with a long list of supplements that everybody should take.
The aim is to understand what appears relevant to you.

What happens at an appointment?
We start by talking.

I want to understand what has brought you to see me, how long things have been going on, what else has been happening in your life and what you would most like to change.

I then use kinesiology muscle testing to explore the areas that appear most relevant.
Sometimes the findings seem closely connected to the reason someone came to see me. At other times, they point us towards something they hadn't considered.

We can then discuss what the findings may mean and what practical changes or support might be appropriate.

My aim isn't to overwhelm you with ten things to change at once. It is to prioritise what appears most important and make the next steps manageable.
Blueprint Kinesiology - my approach
Over the years, I have developed my own way of bringing together kinesiology, nutrition and my understanding of stress, mindset and emotional wellbeing.

I call this Blueprint Kinesiology.

The principle behind it is simple: rather than treating everybody who arrives with the same symptom in the same way, I want to understand the individual person in front of me.

Two people can experience very similar symptoms but have very different things contributing to them.
That's why I don't work from a fixed protocol.

I look for the areas that appear to be placing the greatest demands on your system and use that information to help decide where we begin.
What if stress or emotions are part of the picture?
Physical and emotional wellbeing don't always fit neatly into separate boxes.

Stress can affect the body, and feeling physically unwell can affect how we think, feel and cope with everyday life.

Because my background also includes hypnotherapy and work with stress and mindset, I can explore these areas when they appear relevant rather than ignoring them because you've come to see me about a physical concern.

Sometimes the most useful approach is simply to be able to join the dots.
Who might this be suitable for?
You don't need to know exactly what is wrong before coming to see me.

In fact, kinesiology can be particularly useful when you have several concerns, aren't sure where to begin, or simply have the sense that your body isn't functioning as well as it could be.

You may be looking for support with digestion, energy, stress, hormonal changes, nutrition or general wellbeing - or you may simply want to take a broader look at what could be affecting how you feel.

The starting point is understanding you, rather than trying to fit you into a particular category.
Ready to find out what may be going on?
If you're experiencing digestive problems, low energy, stress, hormonal changes or simply don't feel as well as you think you should, you can book an appointment with me directly.

An initial kinesiology session costs £125 and is for 1.5 hours.
Any follow up sessions cost £95 for 1 hour
